Rabbi of the Future

Wearing a teacher’s uniform is one of my dreams in life before. I don’t know why but I am too excited every time I am with my teachers. Honestly speaking, when I was in Kindergarten and our teacher tried to ask us what do we want to be in the future, I just stood, smiled and said, I wanna be a teacher.

But everything was changed when I was in High School. What I want then is to become a nurse but my father told me to take Education as my course. I did not do anything. I can’t complain. I just followed what he wanted me to do. At first, I chose Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino because my teacher in this subject pleased me but during the admission, my mind was changed because I heard that Filipino subject will be abolished that is why I decided to take up Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in General Education.

Despite of too many challenges and rumors against Education and my doubt as well, I still chose this as my profession. Why shouldn’t I? This is my life and this is what I want now. Time really came and made me realized how awesome Education is. I just followed my desire, where I am comfortable to and what makes me happy.

I was so blessed to experience teaching children when I was in first year college. We conducted tutorial at Brgy. 12, Baduang, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte which was our requirement in our NSTP 2. It was too difficult to mold the pupils’ behavior but I can that it was all worth it when I saw the smiles and happiness drawn on their eyes and faces. Also, at present I am a teacher of Elementary Level at Wonderful Savior Christian Ministry International Incorporated.

I still believe that “Teaching is the noblest profession” and it will never been replaced by other professions.
